Moses Basket Sheets - What to Buy

You will need two or more flat sheets for your moses basket. This will give you a clean one for when your baby is napping and one for spare. In addition to a flat sheet you will also need to purchase a cellular or receiving blanket, as your sleeping baby will need one to three layers of blanket on top of the sheet unless the weather is very warm (in excess of 24 degrees Celsius).

To protect the mattress, you will require fitted sheets. Again, you will need a minimum of two. Regurgitated feeds and leaked nappies mean you will always need a clean one ready for use, to keep your baby’s sleeping conditions hygienic.

Your baby’s mattress should always be kept clean and dry to minimise the growth of bacteria, so some parents choose to use a protective PVC sheet under the fitted sheet. These are inexpensive, costing around £2.50.
