Many parents would prefer to have a second set for their moses basket, so that it is easier to wash the bedding and keep their baby's sleeping area hygienic. Covers for moses baskets are also in great demand among parents who have been given a second hand basket or who would simply like a new set of baby bedding for their second or subsequent child. Who makes moses basket covers?

Brands which produce moses basket cover sets include Clair de Lune, Lollipop Lane and Izziwotnot. If you have a basket produced by any of these well known manufacturers then you may find buying the covers from the same brand name will ensure a snug fit. But generally sizes are generic enough that you don't have to buy everything from one company.

There are also a number of people trading on eBay who sell handmade moses basket covers (you can find more information on this further down the page). If you cannot find one which suits your taste or the style of your nursery décor, then your other option is to find some material which you love then contact a local seamstress and ask them to make up the new covers for you. This is often still less expensive than purchasing an entirely new moses basket, and has the advantage that you know you will be getting exactly what you want.

Some of the best bargains can be found on eBay. You can expect to pay approximately £8 for covers for moses baskets, with no extras included such as a hood cover or bedding. Prices range up to £30 for designer, more aesthetically pleasing or high quality sets. If you were to purchase these bedding sets as part of a complete package, (with the moses basket included), it would cost in the region of £60 so using a second hand basket and buying the moses basket covers only is a considerable saving.

Junior Jungle currently stock moses basket drapes in white and cream. If you like the broderie anglaise style (that's the "frilly" look, in layman's terms) then this store should be your first stop. The downside is that they are a little on the pricey side - all drapes retail at £27. But you will be getting a canopy, pillow and quilt cover for your money.

MosesBaskets4U

MosesBaskets4U are an "independent company in the heart of East Anglia", who have been trading for over 10 years. The products on their website are shown as a package (with a moses basket included as well), but if you need the covers only then they are happy to provide this. The style of handmade moses basket drapes is very traditional.

Cot World

If the traditional and broderie anglaise styles are not to your taste, then you probably want to look for brands such as Lollipop Lane. The covers only are a difficult to come by on most of the major online baby websites, but CotWorld.co.uk do occasionally stock them. Although, at the time of this article being written, there are none available on their website they have in the past stocked Lollipop Lane moses basket covers at a retail price of £15.99 (for a hood, basket cover and a quilt).

eBay

If you have an eBay account (or are willing to set one up) this should absolutely be your first stop for buying covers for moses baskets. There are several sellers who frequently list moses basket covers only. One is "Quackles", who runs an online store called "Bits and Bobs for Baby". Customers praise the speed and quality of service, and the seller satisfaction is an impressive 99.8%. Another good seller to search for is "babyoutletshop" who has a satisfaction rating of 99.5%. Both stock popular brands such as Lollipop Lane, as well as generic designs.

If you want something unique, eBay is also a good place to look for handmade moses basket covers. As well as pretty, traditional designs you can also find quirkier designs such as Liverpool FC drapes.
